SEB Life & Pension is modernising how software is built, tested and deployed. We are seeking a Junior Software Platform Engineer to help shape software engineering at scale.

You may be a recent graduate or early in your career with a technical degree and a strong will to learn. You will join a team building tooling, automation and platform capabilities used across our development organisation, focusing on CI/CD, engineering tooling, containers, IaC and AI-assisted software engineering.

At SEB Life & Pension, we aremodernisinghow software is built,testedand deployed. Around 25 development teams rely on the platforms,toolingand engineering capabilities we provide.

We are now looking for a Junior Software Platform Engineer who wants to help us improve and shape how software engineering is done at scale.

You do not needpreviousexperience as a Platform Engineer. We are looking for technical curiosity, problem-solvingabilityanda strong desireto learn,experimentand improve the way software is developed.

About the role

You will join a team responsible for building and improving engineering capabilities used across our developmentorganisation.

Working closely with development teams and other engineers, you will help create tooling, automation and platform capabilities that make software delivery faster,saferand easier.

Your work will span areas such as:

• CI/CD and deployment automation
• Engineering tooling and platform services
• Containers and Kubernetes-based environments
• Infrastructure as Code
• Automated testing,qualityand security controls
• Standardisationand self-service for development teams
• AI-assisted and agentic software engineering

A particular focus for us is agentic engineering. We are exploring how AI coding agents, structured specifications, automatedtestingand engineering guardrails can work together as part of the software development lifecycle.

This is an area we are actively developing, giving you the opportunity to experiment,learnand help shape how these technologies are used across ourorganisation.

Who we are looking for

You may be a recent graduate or have up to a few years of professional experience. We believe you have a technical university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, EngineeringPhysicsor a similar field.

More important than the length of your experience is your curiosity, technicalfoundationand motivation to learn.

Familiarity with technologies such as C#, Python, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux or Terraform is an advantage, but we do not expect you to know them all. What matters most is a solid technical foundation and a strong willingness to learn.
