Job summary

Sofigate is seeking an experienced Interim IT Leader / Senior Business Technology Leader to guide clients through demanding transformations, translating business priorities into technology roadmaps and investments. You will operate at a strategic level and drive action, owning initiatives and building strong executive relationships.

You will lead across topics from strategy and governance to AI adoption, operating models, cloud and platforms, and vendor ecosystems, delivering measurable outcomes

Qualifications

• Proven experience in demanding senior IT, Business Technology or transformation leadership roles, ideally including C-level responsibility.
• Broad understanding of modern IT leadership with deep expertise in at least one domain.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate priorities into measurable outcomes.
• Ability to work credibly with executives while remaining hands-on when needed.
• Understanding AI impact on business and IT.
• Fluent in Finnish and English.

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Interim IT Leader / Senior Business Technology Leader to join our team.

The team you will be working in specializes in helping customers lead and develop IT and Business Technology in demanding situations. We are looking for an experienced IT leader, who can fill interim CIO, CISO and other senior IT leadership or expert positions in our customers’ organisations. You can operate across a broad range of topics ranging from strategy, governance and demand management to operating models, AI adoption, technology choices, and transformation.

You are comfortable working at a strategic level and translating business priorities into clear technology decisions, roadmaps, and investments. But you also know that strategy needs to lead to action. When it’s time to turn a transformation into action, you are ready to take ownership and drive it forward. You can lead complex initiatives, build capabilities and operating models, manage cross-functional teams, and work closely with executives and business leaders.

We are not looking for identical profiles. We value T-shaped IT leaders who combine a broad understanding of modern IT leadership with deeper expertise in one or more areas. Your personal area of expertise could be, for example, cloud and platforms, enterprise architecture, sourcing and vendor ecosystems, data & AI, cybersecurity and resilience, or IT financial and value management.

Experience from major transformations is highly valued. This may include: growth and scaling, M&A and integration, IT turnarounds, operating model transformations, cyber and resilience uplift, cost and value optimization, or AI transformation.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Strategic IT and Business Technology leadership, including strategy, governance, operating models, demand management and AI adoption
• Leading complex transformations from strategy through execution
• Taking responsibility in interim CIO, CISO or other senior IT leadership roles when needed
• Sparring with executives and building strong customer relationships and growth opportunities

What we expect from you:

• Proven experience in demanding senior IT, Business Technology or transformation leadership roles, ideally including C-level responsibility
• Broad understanding of modern IT leadership combined with deep expertise in at least one relevant domain
• Strong strategic thinking and a proven ability to turn business priorities and strategies into measurable outcomes
• Strong leadership and stakeholder skills, with the ability to operate credibly with executives while remaining hands‑on when needed
• Understanding of modern technology landscapes and the impact of AI on business and IT
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate fluently and effectively with IT and business stakeholders in Finnish and English.
