About the role

As a Technical Consultant, you will lead a comprehensive pre-study for a New Product Introduction (NPI) program. Your primary focus will be evaluating the compliance of advanced FACTS STATCOM systems—including hardware, software, and control functions—against international IEEE and IEC standards.

Work tasks

• Lead a comprehensive pre‑study for a New Product Introduction (NPI) program, evaluating compliance of advanced FACTS STATCOM systems against international IEEE and IEC standards.
• Identify and assess compliance against applicable IEEE standards, focusing on dynamic performance, grid interconnection, and power quality.
• Compare IEEE and IEC requirements to highlight differences, overlaps, and potential conflicts.
• Validate and adapt existing IEC type test plans and prepare a comprehensive IEEE type test plan.
• Identify and assess accredited test laboratories capable of performing demanding high‑current type tests.
• Establish a clear basis for IEC 61850 compliance claims by mapping requirements to specific type tests.
• Identify technical and schedule risks, recommending specific actions to ensure successful NPI execution.

We are looking for

• Advanced knowledge in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related fields.
• Knowledge of FACTS STATCOM systems, including VSC topology and control algorithms.
• Knowledge of IEEE and IEC standards for grid interconnection and power electronics.
• Ability to perform detailed gap analyses between complex technical requirements.
• Excellent professional English skills (written and spoken).
