Job summary

DayOne is building its flagship hyperscale data center campus in Lahti, focusing on robust mechanical systems and safe, compliant operation. As Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will lead design, installation, and ongoing maintenance of HVAC, chillers, and fire suppression while mentoring a team of engineers and technicians to ensure 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in data centres or critical infrastructure.
• 3–5 years of managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of data centre mechanical infrastructure (HVAC, chillers, fire suppression).
• Proven experience leading technical teams and 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems within data centres.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of mechanical engineers and technicians for 24/7 coverage.
• Plan and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations; maintain documentation for audits.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues; collaborate with other teams.
• Support strategic initiatives and budget planning to improve mechanical performance and efficiency.
