Job summary

DayOne is building its flagship hyperscale data center campus in Lahti and seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to oversee mechanical infrastructure and 24/7 operations. You will lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, ensuring reliable HVAC, chillers, and fire suppression while upholding safety and compliance.

You will drive maintenance planning, coordinate with vendors, and contribute to strategic improvements to support rapid growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chillers, and fire suppression in data centres.
• Experience leading technical teams and 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems in data centres.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians with 24/7 coverage.
• Plan preventive and corrective maintenance; coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and proper documentation for audits.
• Provide technical support and collaborate with other teams to optimize performance.
• Support strategic initiatives and budgeting related to mechanical systems.
