Job summary

Aviva is seeking a Guidewire Rating Developer to design, develop, and maintain rating logic within PolicyCenter. You will collaborate with senior developers, architects, and actuarial partners to support modernization and cloud transformation.

You'll work with rating worksheets, engines, and integrations, contributing to code reviews, QA support, and performance tuning in a hybrid, globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3–5 years proven Guidewire Development experience, ideally with PolicyCenter rating.
• Expertise in GOSU language, configuration and coding using Guidewire tools and accelerators.
• Experience with Agile software development and common tools (Git/Jira/Confluence).
• Domain knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance and multiple programming languages (C#, Java, Python).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain rating worksheets, engines, modifiers, and artifacts in Guidewire PolicyCenter.
• Configure, write, package, and deploy GOSU code and rating logic.
• Collaborate with business and actuarial teams to implement rating requirements.
• Support integrations with Earnix, lookup services, and external data sources.
• Participate in peer code reviews to ensure quality and best practices.
• Support QA with rating-focused test cases, defects, and validation.
• Troubleshoot rating logic and related components.
• Assist in Guidewire Cloud upgrades and validate rating behavior.
• Monitor system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
