Job summary

Enersense Engineering is seeking an HSE Advisor to join our client’s data centre project in Helsinki, Finland. You will support the Project Management and Site HSE teams to ensure a safe, compliant and well-managed project environment, starting as soon as possible.

Your duties include reviewing and preparing method statements, risk assessments and permit-to-work systems, conducting site inspections and HSE audits, and coordinating training and toolbox talks.

Qualifications

• Relevant higher education qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related field.
• NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification is considered an advantage.
• Good knowledge of applicable Health & Safety and environmental legislation, regulations and industry best practices.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in similar role within large-scale construction, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in preparing, reviewing and implementing HSE documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, permit-to-work systems and hazardous substance assessments.
• Experience with accident and incident investigations and related reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to promote a positive safety culture across a diverse project team.
• English language skills

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and environmental legislation, project requirements and HSE management systems.
• Reviewing and supporting the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, safe work plans and permit-to-work documentation.
• Monitoring compliance with the project execution plan and ensuring good safety practices on site.
• Conducting regular site inspections and HSE audits, documenting findings and following up on corrective actions.
• Coordinating ongoing assessments and controls related to hazardous substances and workplace risks.
• Maintaining records of statutory inspections for equipment, tools and plant used on the project.
• Supporting accident and incident investigations and communicating findings to stakeholders.
• Monitoring subcontractor compliance with project and company HSE policies, procedures and requirements.
• Supporting site inductions, HSE training and toolbox talks; participating in daily briefings and site coordination meetings.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable Health & Safety and environmental legislation, project requirements and HSE management systems
• Reviewing and supporting the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, safe work plans and permit-to-work documentation
• Monitoring compliance with the project execution plan and ensuring that good safety practices are consistently maintained on site
• Conducting regular site inspections and HSE audits, documenting findings and following up on corrective actions
• Ensuring safety observations and interventions are properly recorded and followed through
• Coordinating ongoing assessments and controls related to hazardous substances and other workplace risks
• Maintaining records of statutory inspections for equipment, tools and plant used on the project
• Supporting accident and incident investigations and ensuring that findings are communicated to the relevant project stakeholders
• Monitoring subcontractor compliance with project and company HSE policies, procedures and requirements
• Supporting the coordination and maintenance of site inductions, HSE training and toolbox talks
• Participating in daily activity briefings and site coordination meetings
• Supporting waste reduction, recycling and other environmental initiatives in line with project requirements
• Taking a proactive approach to identifying HSE risks and supporting continuous improvement across the project

Requirements:
