Job summary

Arctic Skylight Lodge Oy in Kolari is looking for a Head Chef to create exquisite dishes for a unique hotel experience. You'll lead a small team to deliver a menu ranging from Nordic to Asian cuisines, ensuring high guest satisfaction.

Working mainly in English, the position starts in November and lasts until the season ends in April. The role requires flexibility and offers accommodation located 1.5 km away from the lodge.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef, preferably in a similar environment.
• Ability to design and present dishes creatively.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Arctic Skylight Lodge is a hotel opened in 2020, located less than 5 km from the center of Äkäslompolo. The surroundings are unique, as all our buildings are situated in the middle of the forest. We offer 10 glass cabins, a glass-walled restaurant with 22 seats, and a stunning riverside sauna with an outdoor hot tub, featuring views of the river and the possibility for ice swimming throughout the winter.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Head Chef to join our team who can create delicious and beautifully presented dishes for our guests. The role requires flexibility, resilience under pressure, the ability to lead a small team, versatile experience, a self‑directed approach to work, and strong problem‑solving skills. You will design dishes that delight our guests and encourage them to return. The menu traditionally includes three starters, four main courses, and three desserts, with flavors ranging from Nordic tastes to Asian influences. Morning shifts may be available.

The working language is mainly English. Work begins in November and lasts until the end of the season in April. Salary is negotiable depending on experience. Accommodation is provided and is located 1,5 km away from the lodge.
