Job summary

Skuba Suomi Oy, part of the SKUBA GROUP, seeks an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee local accounting in Finland. The role offers flexibility in work location: Tampere, Turku or Vantaa, with close collaboration with management and the Group Finance team.

You will manage daily accounting, month-end processes, tax declarations, and year-end closings to ensure statutory compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting, preferably Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of Finnish accounting standards, taxation and statutory reporting.
• Experience with financial reporting and month-end/year-end closing.
• Fluency in Finnish and good working knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations in accordance with Finnish standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Ensure accurate tax declarations and VAT reporting.
• Coordinate year-end closing and cooperate with external auditors.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
• Maintain accounting records and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with local management and group finance teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

SKUBA GROUP is an international distributor of spare parts for commercial vehicles, operating across Europe. We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Chief Accountant to join our Finnish company, Skuba Suomi Oy.

Our Finnish operations currently include 34 employees and 9 branches.

We offer flexibility regarding the work location – the successful candidate can be based in Tampere, Turku or Vantaa, depending on their preference.

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional who can independently manage local accounting activities while working closely with the company's management and Group Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations in accordance with Finnish accounting standards and legislation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely tax declarations, VAT reporting and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate year-end closing and cooperate with external auditors and advisors.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations and maintain accounting records.
• Cooperate closely with local management and SKUBA GROUP Finance.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
