GOPS Process and Safety Consultant is responsible for the daily on‑site monitoring and performance supervision, analysing and improving operational compliance as well as turnaround quality within foremost Helsinki HUB below‑wing ground operations. The role acts as an operational expert and key stakeholder interface between Finnair ground operations, external service providers and airport stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant and efficient ground operations. Through ground operational observations, performance analysis and proactive stakeholder collaboration, the role contributes directly to ground operational reliability, on‑time performance, risk mitigation and continuous process improvement.

This position is planned to start in early 2027, with the exact start date to be agreed upon with the selected candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and supervise the daily performance of the internal and external stakeholders performing ground handling activities on all Finnair flights on the apron and in the baggage facilities to ensure compliance with all below‑wing turnaround processes and safety policies.
  • Address process non‑compliances and ensure that the reporting requirements are followed.
  • Perform quality checks on turnaround activities.
  • Provide insights into process development based on process observations.
  • Participate in and develop Safety and Security communication, safety promotions and applicable meetings within Ground Operations.
  • Participate in revisioning of relevant GOM chapters, ground operations manuals and safety risk assessment work, as required.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of airline's operational core processes with special attention to ground handling operations.
  • Good overall understanding of airline's various operational departments.
  • Ability to influence operational performance and compliance through close collaboration with Finnair operational teams, service providers, Finavia and other Helsinki HUB stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, professional, and solution‑oriented approach.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to support decision‑making.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
  • Adaptability to changing environments and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to identify operational performance gaps, recurring process deviations and safety risks and drive corrective actions together with process owners and stakeholders.
  • Relevant educational background (minimum upper secondary education; bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Good Finnish and English language skills, both spoken and written.
