Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Customs Specialist in Espoo, Finland, to manage EU customs clearance and compliance across road, air and sea. You’ll optimize duties, tariff classifications, and origin declarations while supporting cost reductions and internal controls.

In this hybrid role (on-site for 4–6 months), you’ll work with the Freight Forwarding Manager to improve routing, documentation and overall compliance for global shipments.

Qualifications

• Experience reducing duty and landed cost via preferential origin or free trade agreements.
• Knowledge of origin declarations and supplier declarations.
• Understanding of road, air and sea freight forwarding.
• Professional-level Finnish in addition to English.
• Curiosity and ownership of your scope of work.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day customs clearance across the EU including release for circulation and transit.
• Maintain HS/Taric classification and customs valuation for goods.
• Spot risks in international shipments and resolve them early.
• Apply Incoterms and allocate costs, risks, and responsibilities.
• Prepare for customs audits and strengthen internal controls.
• Run BTI applications and update rulings.
• Write clear SOPs for colleagues.
• Track duty avoided and landed cost reductions.
• Support material flow between Espoo and global sites.
• Collaborate with Freight Forwarding Manager on routing and documentation.
