Job summary

Vahva in Helsinki seeks a senior product engineer to build a new generation of financial services from the ground up, starting with insurance. You will ship end-to-end product, shape architecture, and introduce AI-first engineering, with influence over technology choices and culture as part of a seed-stage founding team.

Fluency in English; Finnish is a strong plus; expect to work in a dynamic, founding-team environment in Finland.

Qualifications

End-to-end production systems design and operation across API and distributed architectures.
Experience taking an early-stage product from zero to launch with pragmatic decisions.
AI-native development including agents, prompt engineering, and multi-agent workflows.
Infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, automated deployments, and cloud governance.
Ownership mindset with responsibility for outcomes and long-term maintainability.
Fintech or other regulated domain experience is a clear advantage.
Fluent English; Finnish is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Build Vahva's consumer platform from the ground up, working side by side with the founder.
Ship end-to-end services behind cashback and insurance products (vahva.fi).
Shape architecture for reliability, security, and scalability in a regulated industry.
Integrate AI-first engineering from idea to practice across the stack.
Set engineering culture and foundations for future teams.
Work openly with earliest users to guide product development.
