Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a skilled Financial Controller for its Grid Integration business in Vaasa, Finland. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely closing across internal and external stakeholders, supporting budgeting and forecasting with cross-functional teams.

The candidate should have a MSc in accounting or finance, strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, and experience with SAP/Oracle, advanced Excel, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• MSc in Accounting or Finance.
• Proven experience as Financial Controller in a large multinational.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience with general ledger and month-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage period-end closing processes with deadlines.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Project Management, and Shared Service Centers on accounting matters.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with the Business Controller.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, GAAP, IFRS and other standards.
• Support audits and regulatory reporting activities.
• Provide financial analysis and guidance to support decisions and project performance.
• Contribute to process improvements and reporting quality.
