Job summary

OX2 Finland is seeking an Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting and financial administration for Finnish entities, reporting to the Finance Manager Nordics. This role is based in Helsinki with some flexibility across offices in other cities.

You will ensure accurate records, timely reporting and compliance with Finnish statutory requirements, while supporting closing, VAT, audits and business projects across the Nordic region.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in bookkeeping, financial administration, or similar roles.
• Understanding of Finnish accounting principles and VAT.
• Experience with VAT reporting and financial reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and collaborative mindset.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with ERP systems and finance tools.
• Fluency in English and Finnish.
• Experience in renewable energy or project-based industries is a plus.

This position is based in Helsinki. While Helsinki will be your primary office location, we also have offices in Vaasa, Oulu, and Tampere.

About the role

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial administration of Finnish legal entities. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with statutory requirements.

The role means working closely with colleagues across Finance in general and support the local Finnish organization in accounting related matters. You will help maintain strong financial processes that support OX2's continued growth in Finland and across Europe. Your report to the Finance Manager Nordics.

What you will do

Accounting and Financial Administration

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities.
• Execute and monitor payments and bank transactions.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
• Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies.

Closing and Reporting

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and annual reports.
• Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.

Tax, VAT and Compliance

• Prepare VAT returns and support tax-related filings.
• Assist with VAT registrations and ongoing compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain clear audit trails and supporting documentation.

Audit and Business Support

• Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Provide financial information and documentation to support investor, financing, and project-related activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within Finance.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization to support business needs.

Who you are

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial administration, or a similar role.
• Understanding of Finnish accounting principles and statutory requirements.
• Experience with VAT reporting and financial reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• The ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Experience working with ERP systems and finance tools.
• Fluency in English and Finnish is a must.
• Experience from renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, real estate, or project-based industries is considered an advantage but is not required.
