Job summary

OX2 is seeking an Accounting professional based in Helsinki to manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration for Finnish entities. The role reports to the Finance Manager Nordics and collaborates with Finance across the organization to support growth and compliance.

You will perform closing activities, VAT reporting, and assist with statutory statements and audits, while maintaining strong records and audit trails in a purpose-driven renewable energy company.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience in accounting, financial administration, or similar roles.
• Understanding of Finnish accounting principles and statutory requirements.
• Experience with VAT reporting and financial reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for Finnish entities.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and reporting.
• Assist with VAT registrations, VAT returns, and tax-related filings.
• Support external audits and provide financial information for investor and project activities.

This position is based in Helsinki. While Helsinki will be your primary office location, we also have offices in Vaasa, Oulu, and Tampere.

About the role

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial administration of Finnish legal entities. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with statutory requirements.

The role means working closely with colleagues across Finance in general and support the local Finnish organization in accounting related matters.

You will help maintain strong financial processes that support OX2's continued growth in Finland and across Europe. Your report to the Finance Manager Nordics.

What you will do

Accounting and Financial Administration

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities.
• Execute and monitor payments and bank transactions.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
• Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies.

Closing and Reporting

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and annual reports.
• Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.

Tax, VAT and Compliance

• Prepare VAT returns and support tax-related filings.
• Assist with VAT registrations and ongoing compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain clear audit trails and supporting documentation.

Audit and Business Support

• Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Provide financial information and documentation to support investor, financing, and project-related activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within Finance.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization to support business needs.

Who you are

You are a structured and detail-oriented accounting professional who takes pride in delivering accurate work and excellent service. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and are motivated by being part of a company with a clear purpose.

We believe you bring:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial administration, or a similar role.
• Understanding of Finnish accounting principles and statutory requirements.
• Experience with VAT reporting and financial reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• The ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Experience working with ERP systems and finance tools.
• Fluency in English and Finnish is a must.

Experience from renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, real estate, or project-based industries is considered an advantage but is not required.
