Job summary

Metso is seeking a Field Service Support - Boilermaker & Fitters to perform on-site mechanical repairs and service activities for OEM equipment. You will assist technicians with installation, commissioning, investigations and repairs, while promoting Metso products and spare parts.

The role requires a Boilermaker/ Welder trade qualification with at least two years in mining or construction, ability to travel on short notice, and willingness to stay away from home for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Fitting or Boilermaker trade qualification.
• At least two years in mining, aggregates, contract crushing, mining & construction, engineering/workshops.
• Able to pass random medical and drug tests.
• Physically fit and able to travel on short notice.
• Willing to work away from home for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist Service technicians with installation and commissioning of systems and components.
• Assist with investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances and condition of products.
• Assist with technical evaluations and analysis of equipment failures.
• Work as part of a team to solve on-the-job problems.
• Promote Metso products, services and repair capabilities to customers.

Introduction Performing on site mechanical repairs, component refurbishment and service activities relating to OEM Equipment components.

The Role

• Assist Service technicians with Installation and commissioning of systems, machinery and associated spare parts and wear material components.
• Assist Service technicians with investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered condition of products.
• Assist Service technicians with technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures.
• Working as part of a team assist Service technicians to solve practical on the job problems.
• Promoting Metso products and services to customers.
• Promoting company Repair capabilities and obtain service repair work.
• Promoting the sales of OEM spare parts and wears material components at all times.
• Identify sales opportunities for crusher spares and wears parts and report to Field Service Technicians and Superintendent.
• Support fellow field service technicians and carry out hands on mechanical service work within the Metso repair facilities if required.
• Assist in the investigation of customer queries regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered condition of products

About You

• A Mechanical Fitting of Boilermaker/ Welder trade qualification from college or technical school;
• Experience must include at least two years from one or several of the following industries: mining, aggregates, contract crushing plants, mining & construction, engineering / machinery repairs workshops;
• Must be able to pass random medical and drug tests.
• Must be physically fit.
• Ability to travel within short notice.
• Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Desirable

• Experience with the maintenance of crushing and screening equipment
• Working at heights HRL
• Confined space HRL
• Rigging and dogging qualifications.
