Job summary

Stora Enso in Helsinki is seeking a Legal Counsel, Ethics & Compliance to join the Ethics and Compliance team. You will work on group-level assignments while serving as the dedicated E&C resource for one or several Business Areas.

You will monitor regulatory developments in Finland and EU, draft and implement policies, deliver training, and support the Chief Compliance Officer. The role involves travel within Europe and reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer in Sweden.

Qualifications

• Finnish law degree or equivalent required or deemed relevant.
• At least five years of ethics and compliance experience in international environment (in-house or law firm).
• Strong knowledge of competition law, anti-corruption, sanctions, and data privacy and sustainability obligations.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive and reactive legal support including risk assessments, policy interpretation, and compliance investigations.
• Monitor regulatory developments in Finland and EU across anti-corruption, sanctions, data privacy, and sustainability obligations.
• Draft, update and implement E&C policies and guidelines for consistent application.
• Develop and deliver E&C training and awareness initiatives, in person, online and via e-learning.
• Support the Chief Compliance Officer and work as part of the Group E&C team.
