Job summary

Hamilton Barnes ? seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead electrical delivery on large-scale data centre projects.

You will own projects from pre-construction through installation, commissioning and handover, working with an in-house team of engineers, commissioning professionals and project managers. Candidates from mission-critical backgrounds, including data centres, pharma and life sciences, healthcare, semiconductor, or HV/MV infrastructure, will be strongly considered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Senior Electrical Engineer on mission-critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV power distribution and critical power systems.
• Track record of delivering large, fast-track projects to programme and budget.
• Understanding of commissioning processes and QA/QC documentation.
• Commercial awareness, including cost control, change management and subcontractor packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of electrical packages on data centre projects.
• Manage LV, MV and HV installation works, including switchgear, UPS, generators, busbar and containment.
• Coordinate with main contractors, MEP partners, designers and end clients to align design, procurement and installation.
• Own project programmes, tracking progress against milestones and managing change, variations and risk.
• Oversee procurement and delivery of long-lead electrical equipment.
• Manage site supervisors, foremen and subcontractors, maintaining a strong HSE culture on site.
• Drive integration with commissioning teams through L1 to L5 testing, IST and handover.
• Report on project financials, forecasting, cost-to-complete and valuations.
• Build strong client relationships and represent the business in project and design meetings

Job description

An established specialist electrical contractor with over 35 years in critical infrastructure is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead electrical delivery on large-scale data centre projects. You'll take ownership of projects from pre-construction through installation, commissioning and handover, working alongside a fully in-house team of engineers, commissioning professionals and project managers. Candidates from any mission-critical background, including data centres, pharma and life sciences, healthcare, semiconductor, or HV/MV infrastructure, will be strongly considered.

First, you'll join a contractor that self-delivers, with in-house engineering, off-site manufacturing, and HV/MV capability, so you control the outcome rather than managing a chain of subcontractors. Second, you'll be working on complex hyperscale and colocation projects for globally recognised clients, keeping your experience at the front of the mission-critical market. Third, the business is growing its data centre portfolio, which gives a clear route into senior project and operational leadership for the right person.
