Job summary

Coverys seeks a Programs Underwriting Director to lead strategic oversight of MGA partnerships in the US. You will drive profitable growth, underwriting discipline, and operational excellence across the delegated underwriting program, aligning with segment objectives and ensuring disciplined execution.

This role manages due diligence, onboarding, portfolio management, product filings, and audits, while guiding product development, pricing, and compliance. Travel up to 35% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred.
• 15+ years of property and casualty experience focused on program underwriting.
• Strong filings expertise and disciplined, structured work style.
• Knowledge of medical malpractice and professional liability underwriting preferred.
• RPLU or CPCU or similar designations a plus.
• Strong compliance, data calls, audits, and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Relationship management: MGA contacts and internal stakeholder alignment.
• Lifecycle management: due diligence, onboarding, portfolio management, and audits.
• Underwriting governance: delegated authority, complex referrals, and audit oversight.
• Product, filings, and contracts: product development and state filings.
• Financials and claims: manage budget, track GWP, commissions, and performance remediation.
• Project management: dashboards, timelines, risk registers, and leadership reporting.
• Travel up to 35% as required.
