Job description

Adven is a dynamic energy group driving the energy transition by developing sustainable and competitive solutions in partnership with customers, municipalities, and suppliers. Together, our 600+ employees provide households and businesses with district heating and geoenergy solutions, and industries with steam, heating, cooling, and infrastructure services that improve resource efficiency.

With over 50 years of experience, we operate more than 350 sites across Europe, delivering a total energy volume of 5.1 TWh. Our annual revenue is €424 million, and our total assets amount to €1,480 million.

We are looking for a Director, AI Transformation to join our Strategy & M&A team

As Director, AI Transformation, you will lead Adven’s company-wide AI transformation and play a central role in integrating AI into our daily business. You will be responsible for ensuring that AI is implemented effectively across the Group, creating measurable business value and continuously developing how we use AI.

You will work across the organization to identify opportunities, build momentum, and drive AI initiatives from concept to execution. As the owner of Adven’s AI solutions and functionalities, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and teams across the business to ensure that AI becomes a practical and value-adding part of everyday operations.

This is a newly established role with significant visibility and responsibility. You will have the opportunity to shape Adven’s AI agenda from the ground up and influence how a growing international energy group leverages emerging technologies.

The position is based at Adven’s office in Vantaa, Finland or Stockholm, Sweden, with a possibility for 1–2 days working remotely. You will report to the SVP, Strategy & M&A.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Lead and drive Adven’s company-wide AI transformation and implementation

  • Develop and execute the Group’s AI agenda in close collaboration with senior stakeholders and business functions

  • Own Adven’s AI solutions and functionalities, ensuring their effective implementation, usage, and continuous development, supported by and in close cooperation with Adven’s IT department

  • Identify and prioritize AI opportunities based on business impact and measurable value creation

  • Manage a portfolio of AI initiatives, including budgets, milestones, dependencies, risks, and benefits realization

  • Build momentum around AI adoption and lead change across the organization

  • Ensure appropriate AI policies, governance, risk management, and responsible-use principles are embedded in the organization

  • Stay on top of developments in generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, machine learning, AI platforms, and other emerging technologies

  • Contribute to selected strategy projects based on business needs

To Succeed in This Role

You are a business-oriented and execution-focused transformation leader who is motivated by turning new technologies into tangible business results. You are comfortable navigating complex topics, working with multiple stakeholders, and driving initiatives forward in a dynamic environment.

You combine strong analytical and strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to execution. You can translate complex AI and technology concepts into clear business language and tailor your communication to different audiences.

You are curious about rapidly evolving technology, open to different perspectives, and able to build trust and momentum across the organization. Most importantly, you focus on measurable business outcomes rather than AI adoption for its own sake.

Key Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, or a relevant equivalent

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience, with a majority in business development, management consulting, or a similar transformation-oriented role

  • Proven experience from digital or AI transformation projects

  • Experience operating at senior management level and influencing senior stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully bring transformative initiatives from conception to execution

  • Strong understanding of generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, machine learning, AI platforms, and emerging AI technologies

  • Good understanding of data architecture, governance, and data quality requirements

  • Good understanding of AI policies, governance, risk management, and responsible-use principles, as well as relevant regulatory and cybersecurity aspects

  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to manage a portfolio of initiatives, budgets, milestones, dependencies, risks, and benefits

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in clear business language

  • Professional proficiency in English; Finnish or Swedish is an advantage

  • Experience from the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or another asset-intensive industry is strongly preferred

  • Project management certification and/or training is considered a plus

What We Offer

You will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of a growing international energy group and play a central role in Adven’s AI transformation.

As the first dedicated leader for company-wide AI transformation, you will have significant ownership and visibility across the organization. You will work closely with senior management and teams across Adven to turn the potential of AI into concrete business value.

We offer a flexible, development-oriented work culture with clear targets, where you are supported in your professional growth.

This is an opportunity to combine strategy, technology, and business transformation in a role where you can make a tangible impact on how Adven operates and develops in the years ahead.
