Job summary

MacGregor in Kaarina, Finland is seeking a Designer to develop and maintain parametric 3D models and supporting design tools for cargo stowage solutions. You will work closely with R&D to update standard components and contribute to process improvements, reporting to the Senior Manager, R&D.

The role requires 3D design experience, knowledge of design automation, and a mechanical mindset. Fluency in English is essential; strong collaboration in an international team is expected.

Are you ready to take ownership of the development and maintenance of 3D design models?

We are seeking a Designer for MacGregor Cargo Stowage Solutions business line with strong 3D and mechanical design experience to strengthen our R&D organization in Kaarina.

As a Designer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining parametric/configurable 3D models and design tools for our products based on our R&D outcomes.

In this role you will have the opportunity to develop our design processes in close cooperation with our experts and update our standard components and structures.

• Building, maintain and develop 3D design automation tools

• Arrange training for design tool users, develop the tools and help when needed in design projects
• Actively take part in other engineering environment development activities

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, R&D and the position is located in Kaarina,Finland.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

To succeed in this role you should understand 3D modelling technologies, and design automation systems. You are also able to understand complex product structures and you should have an interest in mechanical systems.

You should have experience in 3D modelling. Competencies in design automation systems and some experience of the PLM system will be beneficial. We expect you to have attention to details and keep quality in your work.

Ideally you have

• Bachelor’s or Master ’s degree in Engineering
• 5 years experience of 3D design tools
• Project management skills
• Solution oriented mindset to identify the challenges and focus on the solutions
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
