Job summary

g2 Recruitment seeks an experienced Design Engineer for a large-scale Data Centre project in Finland. You will develop, review and coordinate engineering design packages, ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, local regulations and industry standards.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle. You will coordinate mechanical, electrical and civil design interfaces to ensure seamless delivery, review drawings and design

Location: Finland – Data Centre Project (2-Year Contract)

The Role

• Develop, review, and coordinate engineering design packages for a large-scale Data Centre project.
• Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, client requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the coordination of mechanical, electrical, and civil design interfaces to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Review drawings, technical submittals, specifications, and design changes for accuracy and compliance.
• Attend design meetings, technical workshops, and coordination sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, risks, and technical issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate design documentation, reports, and technical records throughout the project.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Engineer within Data Centers, Mission Critical, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Energy, or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering design principles, construction methodologies, and project delivery processes.
• Experience reviewing and coordinating engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple design packages and stakeholder requirements simultaneously.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design and coordination software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks, or equivalent).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• MUST be open to working onsite in Finland.
• MUST be available to work on a freelance/contract basis.
• Previous Data Centre experience is highly desirable.
