Job summary

Oliver's Market is seeking a Deli Lead to support the Deli Manager in daily operations and profitability. You will ensure outstanding customer service, supervise the deli team, and manage tasks like waste, temps, and inventory to keep the department efficient and compliant.

The role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with regular full-time status and a starting pay range of $22.50–$26.00 per hour. Join a team focused on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Food Handlers Certificate (ServSafe or ANSI compliant) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly.
• Demonstrate understanding of the deli department's financial needs.
• Supervise and develop the deli team in the manager's absence.
• Ensure daily tasks are completed accurately (waste logs, temps, prep lists).
• Place vendor orders and intercompany transfers to maintain stock levels.
• Prepare products per company specifications and recipes.
• Package, weigh, label, and price products for full and self-service cases.
• Oversee inventory on the floor and merchandising; maintain signs and pricing.
• Maintain clean, safe displays and equipment per standards.
• Assist with deliveries and ensure proper storage.
• Foster professional working relations with coworkers and vendors.
• Answer phones promptly and maintain service levels.
• Operate equipment following safety standards.
