Job summary

Vallum Associates is supporting a leading engineering and project management consultancy delivering a major data centre programme in Finland. We are seeking a Head of Electrical Design to provide senior technical leadership on a PMC/client-side basis.

This is not a pure hands-on role; you will oversee third‑party design teams, challenge submissions and ensure compliance with Finnish regulations, coordinating with mechanical, automation and commissioning teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience leading electrical design on complex projects.
• Knowledge of Finnish regulations and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical Design discipline on behalf of the client.
• Coordinate third‑party design teams and consultants.
• Review and challenge electrical design submissions.
• Ensure design comments and queries are closed.
• Provide independent electrical design assurance and oversight.
• Support technical inspections and quality reviews.
• Ensure designs comply with Finnish regulations and project standards.
• Identify risks during the design phase and coordinate with project teams.
• Interface with client, consultants and management.
• Support transition from design through construction and commissioning.
• Provide technical leadership during site delivery.
