Job summary

European Investment Bank is recruiting for an Associate Sector Specialist – Critical Raw Materials in Luxembourg. The role supports due diligence and appraisal of mining and metals projects, ensuring technical, environmental and financial viability in line with EIB policies.

You will work within the SCPI division of INCO, reporting to the Head of Division, engaging with senior experts across the bank, and collaborating with lending, legal and project teams to deliver robust financing decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Economics or other relevant field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in minerals, metals, critical raw materials or related process industries.
• Knowledge of industrial project analysis including technical, economic, financial, environmental and social aspects.
• Ability to contribute to financial and economic analysis and assess project fundamentals, costs and risks.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical, economic and financial assessment of investment projects in mining, metals refining and related industries.
• Evaluate strategic alignment, viability and sustainability of projects per EIB standards.
• Support origination and early screening of investment opportunities in collaboration with Lending Directorate.
