Job summary

European Investment Bank (EIB) is seeking a Climate Change Specialist to join the Policy Implementation Unit of the Sustainability and Climate Office in Luxembourg. You will lead climate policy workstreams, support Paris Alignment of counterparties and projects, and contribute to risk analysis and reporting.

You will collaborate across EIB groups and external bodies, focusing on data-driven greenhouse gas accounting, transition risk scoring, and policy advisory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent; engineering/economics preferred.
• At least 5 years in data analysis or climate-related work.
• Strong Excel and data analytics; coding ability is a plus.
• Knowledge of climate policy and international organisations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Paris Alignment of Counterparties framework within the Bank's climate policy context and risk framework, developing methodologies and tools.
• Lead greenhouse gas accounting and reporting workstreams, including project-level methodologies and emissions modelling.
• Contribute to the climate risk framework and provide technical support to EIB colleagues on transition climate risk scoring and data procurement.
• Develop external partnerships to advance climate risk work and Paris alignment with MDBs and NGFS.
