Job summary

Aiven is seeking a Software Engineer to work on our cloud operations platform. In this role, you will turn the best open-source technologies into frustration-free cloud services, focusing on the scalability and reliability of our Valkey services.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent Python development skills and experience with various databases. Aiven offers a hybrid work policy, equity participation, and a focus on personal and professional growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, or OracleDB.
• 1+ years of experience with Valkey, Redis, Dragonfly, or KeyDB.
• Experience with backup solutions and strategies.
• Advanced understanding of Linux OS.
• Experience with automated testing.
• Knowledge of distributed systems.
• Experience with performance improvements, bug fixes, and security resolution.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality, maintainable code and release quality features.
• Participate in technical discussions and PR reviews.
• Help investigate and resolve customer issues.
• Mentor and empower other engineers.
• Automate processes to eliminate repetitive manual work.
• Develop and improve the scalability and reliability of Valkey service.
