Job summary

Boston Link in Helsinki leads a regulated European fintech by appointing a Chief Compliance Officer to head its compliance function in Finland.

This senior role will own the regulatory compliance framework, manage regulatory relationships, and provide compliance advice to executive leadership and the board. The candidate should have 5+ years in EMI/payment/banking and deep knowledge of Finnish and EU regulations. Hybrid work with four days in the office.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field as stated.
• Five+ years of compliance experience; more is preferred.
• Experience in EMI, payment institution, bank or regulated fintech.
• Strong knowledge of Finnish and EU financial-services regulation.
• Experience advising senior leadership and presenting to boards/committees.

I’m supporting a regulated European fintech with the appointment of a Chief Compliance Officer to lead its compliance function in Finland.

Hybrid – four days per week in the office

Key responsibilities:

• Own and develop the company’s regulatory compliance framework
• Act as a key contact for FIN-FSA and other relevant authorities
• Advise senior management and the board on regulatory obligations and compliance risks
• Oversee compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, audits and remediation
• Assess the regulatory impact of new products, services and markets
• Monitor Finnish and EU regulatory developments
• Promote a strong compliance culture across the business

The ideal candidate will have:

• A university degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business or a related field
• At least five years’ relevant compliance experience, although significantly more would be preferred
• Experience within an EMI, payment institution, bank or regulated fintech
• Strong knowledge of Finnish and EU financial-services regulation
• Previous exposure to FIN-FSA or another European financial regulator
• Fluent Finnish and English
• Experience advising senior leadership and presenting to boards or committees
