Job summary

Aalto University is seeking a Space Technology Business Developer to join a team of research experts from the School of Electrical Engineering. The role focuses on identifying partners, negotiating deals, and mapping commercialization options for SkyWake imaging tech for small telescopes monitoring space objects.

This seven-month project, starting 1 November 2026, is full-time and located in Espoo. The position offers an international environment, with potential future co-founder opportunities

Qualifications

• Fluency in English.

• Experience in space technology or exposure to it is required.
• Ability to work with people from different backgrounds.
• Excellent teamwork, negotiation and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• You’ll actively identify partners for the project and negotiate with them.

• An important task is to make a go-to market plan for the services and products of the project and map out different commercialization options e.g. start-up establishment.

Would you like to grow a deep tech startup? Are you excited about creating an international business from research in the field of space technology.

Aalto University is now looking for aSPACE TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS DEVELOPER to join a team of research experts from the School of Electrical Engineering. A funded Research to Business project SkyWake develops advancing imaging technology for small telescopes to monitor low earth orbit space objects.

What you’ll do

You’ll actively identify partners for the project and negotiate with them. You also investigate an prepare commercialization paths to meet the potential clients’ demands. An important task is to make a go-to market plan for the services and products of the project and map out different commercialization options e.g. start-up establishment.

You will be employed by Aalto University for the duration of the project. This job is intended to last 7 months, starting 1st of November, 2026. The position is full-time.
