Job summary

ISS Palvelut Oy is seeking a building caretaker in Sodankylä to manage property upkeep at client sites, with a mix of maintenance, minor repairs and outdoor grounds work. The role includes winter snow duties and an on-call shift about every four weeks, with a separate allowance for on-call work.

The position is full-time and permanent, starting ASAP, with wage level 5 (14.58 €/h) plus potential education supplements and pay increases based on competence.

Qualifications

Experience in property maintenance (minimum 2 years).
Valid B-class driving license for manual transmission.
Ability to work in Finnish and maintain safety standards.
Good IT skills and familiarity with electronic maintenance records.
Willingness to learn and possibly undertake apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

Property upkeep at client sites.
Building maintenance and minor repairs.
Outdoor area upkeep including snow duties in winter.
On-call readiness (24/7) approximately every four weeks.
Ensure safety and contribute to proactive maintenance.

Job description

We are looking for a building caretaker to strengthen our team in Sodankylä. In this role you will be responsible for property upkeep at our client sites. The caretaker duties are varied and comprise a balanced mix of building maintenance, minor repairs, and outdoor area upkeep. Work shifts are mainly weekdays between 6:00 and 16:00, but other hours are possible, especially in winter when snow duties depend on weather conditions. Additionally, there is a weekly on‑call shift about every four weeks. The on‑call shift requires 24/7 readiness to respond to tasks, and is compensated with a separate allowance.

This is a full‑time, permanent position and the start date is as soon as possible. The role offers at least the wage level 5 according to the Building Services Industry collective agreement (14.58 €/h) plus possible on‑call allowances based on actual hours and any education supplement related to completed qualification. Personal pay increases based on competence can also be paid.
