Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a BIM Coordinator for the Grid Integration team in Finland (Vaasa or Tampere) within the Nordic Operating Unit.

You will lead BIM across projects, train teams, and coordinate with global colleagues, clients, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure integrated project delivery. The role involves developing BIM Execution Plans, coordinating models, and advancing digitalization initiatives, with some travel and site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree within a related field in construction or design.
• Good knowledge of BIM cloud platforms specifically BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma
• 3 years of experience from Autodesk tools Revit and Navisworks
• Knowledge of BIM requirements and standards in Finland
• Experience in working mid to large-scale projects and working in multiple projects at the same time
• Fluent verbal and written skills in Finnish. Good verbal and written skills in English. Other Nordic language skills (Swedish and Danish) are considered as an advantage.

• Prepare federated models, perform clash detection and conduct model coordination meetings
• Prepare BIM Execution Plan (BEP) from internal and contract requirements and manage BIM model development
• Create 3D renderings, animations, 4D simulations and other model based use cases

• Support the preparation and revisions of project budgets and estimates

The opportunity

We are looking for a BIM Coordinator at Hitachi Energy, Grid Integration business. This role is located in Vaasa or Tampere, Finland, and is part of the Nordic Operating Unit (Finland, Sweden, Denmark) BIM team.

The business line designs and delivers complete substations for distribution and transmission grids. In close cooperation with customer and other Hitachi Energy teams we deliver solutions to many segments, like renewables, battery energy storages, datacenters, industry, utilities and green hydrogen sector. We are offering an interesting position in an international project environment and various development possibilities in Building Information Modeling.

As a BIM Coordinator, you manage BIM in a project and communicate effectively with global colleagues, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. In this role you need to be a fast learner, self-motivated and work effectively both independently and as part of the team. You will support the Nordic Operating Unit digitalization initiative. The job includes some internal travelling and site visits as needed.
