Job summary

Comatec is seeking an AVEVA E3D Piping and Layout Designer to join our shipbuilding team in Finland. You will design piping and cable tray layouts, manage space reservations, and produce isometric and production drawings for complex projects in Helsinki area or Turku, with occasional remote work depending on project needs.

The ideal candidate has a degree in mechanical engineering, strong AVEVA E3D skills, and proven experience in shipbuilding or industrial piping design.

AVEVA E3D Piping and Layout Designer

We are looking for an AVEVA E3D Piping and Layout Designer to join our team and contribute to exciting shipbuilding projects. In this role, you will become part of a highly skilled team specializing in shipbuilding, marine industry components and systems, as well as electrical and automation solutions.

About the role

As a Piping and Layout Designer, you will play a key role in our project delivery by:

• Designing piping or cable tray routing and space layouts using AVEVA E3D
• Managing space reservation planning
• Preparing pipe isometric drawings and production drawings
• Collaborating closely with other designers and equipment suppliers

The work will be carried out at our customers’ premises in Helsinki area or Turku. Depending on the project, you may also work part of the week remotely.

What we expect from you

• A degree in mechanical engineering or another relevant field
• Strong proficiency in AVEVA E3D design software
• Experience in creating component and material libraries in the AVEVA E3D environment is considered an asset
• Previous experience in piping or cable tray design within shipbuilding or industrial projects
• A systematic, accurate, and persistent approach to work
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other designers
• The ability to understand technical concepts and carry design work through to completion
• Experience in layout design for machinery spaces or electrical rooms is considered an advantage
• Experience in shipbuilding and familiarity with classification societies is considered an advantage
• Good command of English; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage
