Job summary

Sine Engineering is seeking a hands-on UAV Pilot & Engineer to join our Finland team. You will pilot UAVs during client demos, perform pre-flight checks, and analyze flight data to provide actionable feedback to Ukraine-based engineering teams.

Responsibilities include configuring flight controllers (ArduPilot/iNav/Betaflight), ensuring safety during demos, and documenting findings to drive improvements. This role involves international travel and on-site work in Finland.

Qualifications

Experience operating UAVs in real conditions.
Full drone system setup from hardware to flight readiness.
Hands-on configuration with ArduPilot, iNav, or Betaflight.
Solid UAV systems knowledge: electronics, connectors, soldering, antennas, aerodynamics.
Strong analytical skills: flight log analysis and troubleshooting.
Ability to perform field repairs and troubleshooting.
Strong safety mindset for client-facing flights.
Able to organize own tasks in dynamic environments.
Willingness to travel internationally, including Ukraine.
Finnish native/advanced and English level B2+.

Responsibilities

Operate UAVs (fixed-wing and multirotor) during test flights, client demonstrations, and acceptance activities.
Prepare systems for flight: assembly, configuration, calibration, and pre-flight inspections.
Ensure UAV and equipment readiness for demos and field activities: configuration control, spares, rapid repairs.
Execute customer-facing flights with safety standards and mission protocols.
Diagnose mechanical, electronic, and software issues and identify root causes.
Analyze flight logs to detect anomalies and explain failure causes.
Evaluate test outcomes and propose improvements to engineering.
Tune and configure flight controllers and integrate components.
Work with MAVLink, CRSF, SBUS, CAN, UART protocols at a practical level.
Maintain documentation: test reports, checklists, logs.
