Job summary

TMF Group Finland is seeking an Accounting Consultant on a fixed-term 12-month contract to lead the financial integration of a newly acquired company. You will work closely with the Market Finance Manager to align accounting practices with TMF Group standards and drive accurate financial reporting across the merged entities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
• Experience with month-end closing activities and financial reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Support the transition from invoice-based accounting to accrual-based accounting, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Assist with legal entity integration and merger-related accounting activities.
• Establish and implement financial reporting processes in line with TMF Group standards and requirements.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with TMF Group accounting policies, reporting deadlines, and financial governance requirements.
• Support the harmonization and optimization of accounting processes throughout the integration phase.
• Prepare documentation, process guidelines, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Facilitate a smooth handover of processes and knowledge to the Regional Delivery Center (RDC) upon project completion.

Working closely with the Market Finance Manager, you will support the transition and alignment of the acquired business with TMF Group's accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and operational processes. You will be responsible for supporting accounting transformation activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, facilitating entity integration, and helping establish sustainable processes for future operations. Finnish language skills are considered a strong advantage, as you will collaborate with local stakeholders and support activities within the Finnish market.

Key Responsibilities

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
• Experience with month-end closing activities and financial reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Finnish language skills are highly desirable.
• Experience supporting finance transformation, system migration, or business integration projects is considered a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Datev Koinov, Microsoft Access, or similar financial systems is an advantage.
• Experience working in an international and matrix-driven environment is a plus.
