Job summary

TMF Group in Helsinki is seeking an experienced Accounting Consultant to support the financial integration of a newly acquired company. You will work closely with the Market Finance Manager to align accounting practices with TMF Group standards and ensure accurate reporting during the 12-month fixed-term assignment.

The role involves leading transition from invoice-based to accrual-based accounting, supporting entity integration, and developing sustainable processes for ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
• Experience with month-end closing activities and financial reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Finnish language skills are desirable.
• Experience supporting finance transformation, system migration, or business integration projects is a strong advantage.
• Experience working in an international, matrix-driven environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the transition from invoice-based accounting to accrual-based accounting, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Assist with legal entity integration and merger-related accounting activities.
• Establish and implement financial reporting processes in line with TMF Group standards and requirements.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with TMF Group accounting policies, reporting deadlines, and financial governance requirements.
• Support the harmonization and optimization of accounting processes throughout the integration phase.
• Prepare documentation, process guidelines, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Facilitate a smooth handover of processes and knowledge to the Regional Delivery Center (RDC) upon project completion.
• Collaborate with finance stakeholders across local and group functions to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
