The Data department in Bangkok oversees all data-related needs at Agoda. Our goal is to enable data-driven decision-making using operational and analytical databases, queue systems, BI tools, and data science technology. We hire talented individuals worldwide, supporting their growth and fostering a culture of diversity and experimentation. Our work is critical in improving search experiences, protecting against fraud, and leveraging vast data resources.

The Opportunity

Please note - The role is based in Bangkok.

We seek ambitious, agile data scientists to work on challenging machine learning and big data platforms, processing around 600 billion events daily and making 5 billion predictions.

As part of the Data Science and Machine Learning team, you will address real-world problems such as dynamic pricing, real-time customer intent prediction, search ranking, content classification, personalization, and more. You will work on one of the world's largest ML infrastructures, utilizing dozens of GPUs, 30K+ CPU cores, and 150TB of memory.

In This Role, You’ll Get to

• Design, code, experiment, and implement models to improve customer experience, supply value, and business outcomes
• Analyze large-scale data to discover insights and drive innovation
• Collaborate with developers and business teams to deliver high-quality results daily
• Research and apply new ideas to make impactful differences

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• 4+ years of hands-on data science experience
• Strong understanding of AI/ML/DL and Statistics, proficiency with open-source libraries and frameworks
• Expertise in SQL, Python, PySpark, and/or Scala
• Ability to lead, work independently, and collaborate effectively
• Excellent communication skills for a multicultural environment

It’s Great if You Have

• PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or related fields
• Experience in NLP, image processing, or recommendation systems
• Experience with big data frameworks like Spark or Hadoop
• Experience in e-commerce or OTA data science
