Job summary

Santander is seeking a Structured Notes Issuance & Platform Oversight Associate / Vice President in Madrid to operate a global platform for structured-notes issuance. You will coordinate issuance, lifecycle processes, and governance across multiple jurisdictions with collaboration across legal, compliance, and technology teams.

Enhance controls, monitor regulatory developments, and drive efficiency while delivering high-quality documentation and reporting, within a hybrid working model in Madrid

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in capital markets, structured products, securities issuance, legal, product governance, business management, operations or a comparable control function (Required)
• Experience interpreting financial contracts, securities documentation or issuance programme documentation (Required)
• Experience in structured-note issuance, issuance programmes, repacks, public offers, listings, product governance or securities lifecycle processes (Preferred)
• Experience partnering with business teams and first- and second-line control functions across multiple jurisdictions (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end issuance and lifecycle management of structured notes and related transactions across platforms.
• Oversee daily issuance flow, coordination, documentation, incidents and timely escalation with multiple teams.
• Maintain governance frameworks for issuance activity, supporting audits and regulatory reporting.
• Monitor regulatory developments and jurisdiction-specific requirements affecting issuance.
• Review financial and legal documentation including programme and transaction docs.
• Maintain oversight of operational risks and drive remediation.
• Support distributor onboarding and governance for public and private placements.
• Escalate material risks and increase capacity through standardised processes.
