The role specializes in inverter technologies—both central and string—and their integration within BESS platforms, leading technical due diligence, guiding product development, and ensuring compliance with certification and grid requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical due diligence of both central and string inverter technologies (3rd‑party OEM and internally developed).
  • Develop technical product requirements for the qualification process and provide supplier recommendations.
  • Assist procurement and engineering in reviewing supplier proposals and negotiating technical requirements with suppliers.
  • Monitor evolving codes and certifications, analyze their impact on the market and specific products, and recommend how to leverage these developments.
  • Drive internal and external Independent Engineer (IE) reviews to validate product performance and compliance.
  • Maintain traceability of inverter specifications, certification status, performance validations, and internal evaluations to support cross‑team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with engineering, business development, and execution teams to refine inverter‑related solution architecture and product vision.
  • Research, analyze, and draft market requirements for existing and new products by engaging with customers and sales teams, reviewing industry sources, and translating insights into product and roadmap proposals.
  • Present proposals to internal stakeholders to gain alignment and approval.
  • Act as an internal advocate for customer needs and requirements.
  • Drive new product ideas through product development and/or system integration processes; coordinate and influence cross‑functional product leaders.
  • Communicate and train business teams on product specifications, advantages, applications, and competitive benchmarks.
  • Prepare technical content and materials for customer visits, training sessions, webinars, and events.
  • Provide and validate content for marketing collateral such as datasheets, brochures, and white papers; support marketing in product launches and performance tracking.
  • Support procurement and supply chain teams by ensuring inverter manufacturing processes, certification status, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical gaps during product qualification and integration.
  • Provide technical guidance to ensure smooth commercialization and supply readiness.
  • Support ongoing measurement of product success in the field and recommend improvements based on performance and customer feedback.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field; a postgraduate degree (M.Sc./Ph.D.) in engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inverter technology, power electronics, or energy storage product development, with hands‑on exposure to utility‑scale BESS projects and applications.
  • Strong understanding of inverter technology (both central and string), power electronics, and their integration with battery systems.
  • Solid knowledge of power systems engineering, grid compliance, and interconnection requirements.
  • Familiarity with control systems and product validation processes.
  • Proficiency in applying relevant codes and standards (NFPA, UL, IEEE, IEC, etc.), with proven ability to track emerging standards and assess their impact on products and solutions.
  • Ability to quickly absorb detailed product information and effectively communicate technical aspects to diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of financial product calculations, including cost structure, pricing definition, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate convincingly with customers, independent engineers, certification bodies, and industry groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across time zones, cultures, and functions (engineering, BD, supply chain, execution).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional technical resources, drive alignment across teams, and influence product and solution strategy.
  • Experience working in international organizations across multiple time zones, with strong preference for prior collaboration with teams in China.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility to travel, including international travel as required (up to 15%) for vendor assessments, integration testing, and industry events.
