Trinasolar ISBU is expanding its Project Business Unit in Europe. We seek a Project Engineer to lead technical scope across utility-scale PV and BESS projects, from planning through commissioning, coordinating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities include defining objectives, budgets, schedules, and resources; managing technical reviews; supporting RFQ/RFP processes; and ensuring regulatory, grid, and safety compliance. English fluency required.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in utility-scale renewable energy projects, preferably PV and BESS.
• Proven experience across full lifecycle: development, due diligence, construction, commissioning, COD.
• Strong knowledge of PV and BESS components and systems (modules, inverters, trackers, transformers, batteries, controls).
• Experience with RFQ/RFP tendering, EPC/BOS/BOP contractor evaluation, supplier selection, and negotiations.
• Familiarity with EU and UK codes, standards, and regulations for renewable energy.
• Experience with PV and BESS design tools (AutoCAD, PVsyst); DigiSilent a plus.
• Fluent English; Spanish/other European languages advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee reviews of engineering deliverables and supplier documentation for standards and contract compliance.
• Coordinate RFQ/RFP processes and evaluate EPC, BOS/BOP contractors and suppliers.
• Review conceptual to detailed engineering for PV and BESS, ensuring grid connection and permits alignment.
• Lead FAT/SAT tests for major equipment and ensure successful commissioning.
• Act as primary technical liaison between internal teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Manage interfaces to ensure seamless integration of PV, BESS, substation, grid, and plant control systems.
• Support contract reviews, identify risks, gaps, and responsibilities; ensure quality and delivery obligations.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning and oversee handover documentation.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project plans, defining objectives, budgets, schedules, resource allocations, and performance metrics.
• Own the technical scope of utility-scale PV and BESS projects, including component specification, design validation, system integration planning, and technical risk management.
• Drive and oversee technical reviews of engineering deliverables and supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, contractual obligations, applicable standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and support RFQ/RFP processes, including preparation of technical specifications, scope of works, design criteria, technical clarifications, and evaluation of EPC, BOS/BOP contractors, and key equipment suppliers.
• Review conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering for PV and BESS projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, grid connection requirements, permits, construction feasibility, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate and lead factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for major equipment, including PV modules, inverters, trackers, transformers, switchgear, battery systems, PCS, PPC, EMS, and SCADA systems.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise the design process and manage technical interfaces to ensure seamless integration between PV, BESS, substation, grid connection, and plant control systems.
• Support contract review activities, identifying technical risks, gaps, exclusions, interface responsibilities, warranties, performance requirements, and delivery obligations.
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases, reviewing technical queries, resolving design-related issues, and ensuring compliance with approved engineering, contractual requirements and quality standards.
• Manage commissioning activities and ensure successful energization, testing, performance validation, and handover of PV and BESS assets to our AM Team.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive project documentation for client handover, including as-built documentation, commissioning records, technical reports, and version-controlled project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within utility-scale renewable energy projects, preferably involving both PV and BESS technologies.
• Proven experience supporting projects throughout the full lifecycle, from development and technical due diligence through construction, commissioning, and commercial operation date (COD).
• Strong technical knowledge of PV and BESS systems, including modules, inverters, trackers, transformers, switchgear, substations, batteries, PCS, EMS/PPC, and SCADA systems.
• Experience in technical tendering processes (RFQ/RFP), EPC/BOS/BOP contractor evaluation, supplier selection, and technical negotiations.
• Proven experience with electrical system design review, grid connection requirements, protection and control systems, FAT/SAT activities, and commissioning processes.
• Familiarity with international codes, standards, and regulations applicable to renewable energy projects (EU and UK required).
• Experience with PV and BESS design tools and engineering software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Project, and MS Office. Knowledge of DigiSilent will be considered as additional benefit.
• Good understanding of grid services, plant control systems, and renewable energy integration into transmission and distribution networks.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Languages: Fluent English required; Spanish and/or other European languages would be considered an advantage.
