UST España & Latam in Madrid seeks a Tech Lead specialized in Java and Kafka for the banking sector. The role requires autonomy to own and solve complex challenges in a fast-paced, regulated environment, with hybrid work and three days a week in the office.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, IBM MQ, REST APIs, and CI/CD, contributing to system integrations, deployment, and orchestration using Octopus Deploy, Jenkins, and GitHub/GitLab.

Formación

• Proven Java and Spring Boot experience in banking/regulated environments.
• Expertise with Kafka and IBM MQ for integrations.
• Strong REST API, JSON, XML knowledge and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and own Java-based solutions using Spring Boot.
• Manage Oracle PL/SQL (DB19 preferred) integrations.
• Hands-on system integrations, interface management, scripting.
• Deeply work with Kafka and/or IBM MQ (mandatory).
• Design and utilize REST APIs, JSON, XML in apps.
• Oversee application lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiar with deployment/orchestration tools, especially Octopus Deploy.
• Version control with GitHub and GitLab.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Tech Lead specialized in Java and Kafka with a strong background in the banking sector. This role requires a highly autonomous professional who can take ownership, proactively solve complex challenges, and operate independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Location: Hybrid. Madrid city center (Sol area). 3 days a week in the office.

Language: English is a must. Spanish desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Proven experience with Java, including Spring Boot.
• Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL (DB19 preferred).
• Hands‑on experience with system integrations, interface management, and scripting.
• Solid background in Kafka and/or IBM MQ (mandatory).
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
• Experience across the application lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of deployment and orchestration tools, particularly Octopus Deploy (Jenkins is a plus).
• Experience working with GitHub and/or GitLab.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of SWIFT messaging.
• Understanding of investment products and financial instruments.
• Experience within financial markets or capital markets environments.

Business Hours. No intensive working days for Friday or summer.
