UST España & Latam in Madrid seeks a Mid Java Developer with a strong background in enterprise application development, system integration, and software quality assurance. The role is hybrid in Madrid (3x2) and includes training on the Actico Platform.

The ideal candidate brings extensive Java experience, RESTful services know-how, and familiarity with Kafka and enterprise messaging. You will own quality and deliver high-quality solutions in complex environments.

Formación

• Extensive hands-on Java development experience for enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong knowledge of the Java stack, SDLC, and best practices.
• RESTful web services integration experience.
• Experience with Eclipse IDE and Git version control.
• Oracle Database and SQL development experience.
• Kafka experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with enterprise messaging (MQ, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous patterns and distributed systems.
• Ability to design and execute functional, integration and acceptance tests; create test data.
• Ability to work independently in a QA-light environment and ensure quality before release.

Note: We will provide training on the Actico Platform

Mandatory Requirements:

• Extensive hands-on experience as a Java Developer, with a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong knowledge of the Java technology stack, software engineering best practices, and the full software development lifecycle.
• Good understanding of RESTful web service integration.
• Experience with Eclipse IDE for development, debugging, and application troubleshooting. Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Experience with Oracle Database and SQL development.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka is highly preferred.
• Candidates must demonstrate experience with enterprise messaging, queuing, or event-streaming technologies.
• Experience with Kafka is preferred, while exposure to platforms such as IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ), RabbitMQ, or similar alternatives will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous communication patterns, message-driven architectures, and distributed system integration.
• Experience in designing, creating, and executing: Functional testing Integration testing Acceptance testing Mock-up testing Ability to independently define test scenarios, create test data, build mock environments, and thoroughly test their own developments.
• As there will initially be no dedicated QA team, developers will be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and validation of their own applications before release.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Dynamic Application Framework (DAF).
• Experience in Business Rule Management, including: Modelling Management Implementation Certifications or training in Visual Rules or Actico Rules.
• Experience with Actico Platform integration, particularly in Workplace-focused environments.
• Personal Attributes Strong communication and collaboration skills with a teamwork-oriented mindset.
• High level of ownership, commitment, and proactive attitude. Passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
