Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space SAU in Getafe seeks a System of Systems Concepts Design Engineer to join the Future Concepts team. You will contribute to conceptual design activities for new Air Power solutions and integrate legacy systems within larger System of Systems architectures.

Responsibilities include architectural design, MBSE modeling, and roadmapping, with emphasis on reusable, scalable frameworks across multi-domain contexts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering or architecture, desirable including training and hands-on experience in System of Systems (SoS) or complex enterprise-level architectures.
• Prior knowledge in architectural frameworks (e.g., UAF, DoDAF, MODAF) and modeling languages (e.g., SysML, UML), with hands-on experience using tools such as Cameo.
• Strong understanding of defence systems, including their operational contexts, constraints, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in defining and integrating diverse technical domains (e.g., communications, sensors, command & control, data analytics, cybersecurity).

Responsibilities

• Architectural Design & Conceptualization: Design and analysis of complex SoS architectures addressing multi-domain challenges.
• Advanced Modeling & MBSE: Develop SoS frameworks using MBSE to create rigorous models.
• Strategic Roadmapping: Contribute to SoS roadmaps and technology strategies.
• Driving Reusability: Design scalable, reusable frameworks for the portfolio.
• Analysis & Integration: Conduct trade-off analyses, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate architectural risks related to performance, scalability, and security.
