Sungrow Europe seeks a talented engineer to act as the primary technical interface for SCADA and EMS systems. This role requires strong experience in industrial communication protocols, cybersecurity, and technical documentation.

As part of our Spain team, you'll be a key player in driving renewable energy projects, with opportunities to collaborate and innovate in solar and battery storage deployments. Fluency in Spanish and a degree in a related field are essential.

Formación

• Solid experience with PPC/EMS environments and vendor interaction.
• Fluency in industrial communication protocols.
• Familiarity with network security principles.

Responsibilities

• You will act as the primary technical interface with external SCADA, PPC, and EMS vendors — defining and validating communication architectures that keep our systems talking to each other seamlessly.
• You will support engineering activities, FAT/SAT testing, and commissioning — ensuring industrial communication protocols such as Modbus (RTU/TCP), IEC 61850, IEC 60870‑5‑104, and DNP3 are correctly implemented across projects.
• You will analyze customer technical specifications related to cybersecurity and IT/OT architectures, translating complex requirements into clear equipment definitions and configurations.
• You will assess cybersecurity risks across our systems and coordinate mitigation actions with both internal teams and external stakeholders — keeping our projects safe, compliant, and resilient.
• You will monitor and interpret applicable cybersecurity standards and regulations — including IEC 62443, ISO 27001, and grid operator requirements — ensuring full product compliance and supporting audits and conformity assessments.
• You will prepare and maintain high‑quality technical documentation — from network architectures and communication matrices to cybersecurity guidelines — while also supporting presales activities by reviewing and responding to technical specifications.

Your profile

Role

• You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Networks, Industrial Automation, or a closely related field — and you bring proven hands‑on experience in SCADA and control system integration.
• You have solid experience working with PPC/EMS environments and interacting with external technology vendors and end customers in real‑world project settings.
• You are fluent in industrial communication protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP3, IEC 60870‑5‑104) and comfortable navigating IT/OT architectures, industrial networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls), and OT cybersecurity principles.
• You have a good understanding of network segmentation, access control, and secure remote access — and you are familiar with industrial cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443 and ISO 27001.
• Experience with inverters, PCS, and BESS technologies is a strong plus, as is knowledge of utility or grid operator cybersecurity requirements.
• You communicate effectively in Spanish and English at a C1 level; any additional European languages are a welcome bonus.
