Job summary

Essity seeks a Communications Director for the Consumer Tissue BU to shape and lead internal and external communications across a global business unit. You will partner with senior leaders to translate business priorities into coherent messaging and drive brand activation in a complex, matrix organization.

Based in Barcelona, you will coordinate with country teams, manage media and crisis communications, and oversee cross-functional programs that support transformation and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in corporate communications within international/matrix organizations.
• Strong expertise in internal communications, social media, public relations and crisis communications.
• Senior leadership with ability to build networks and align processes across the organization.
• Experience managing external agencies and partners while maintaining high quality.

Responsibilities

• Communication Strategy & Planning: Contribute to and drive internal and external communication strategies, plans, guidelines and routines for the BU.
• Business Partnering: Advise senior leaders and functions to support business objectives and transformation priorities.
• Channel Management: Optimize mix of channels to maximize reach and understanding among stakeholders.
• Content & Delivery: Deliver clear, engaging verbal, written, and digital communications tailored to audiences.
• Change Communication: Support change initiatives ensuring clarity, alignment and engagement.
• Media & Crisis Communication: Coordinate media relations and crisis comms across units and markets.
• Collaboration & Alignment: Work with country leads and Group Communications to implement plans and branding.
• Change & Transformation Communication: Lead comms for business transformation and stakeholder adoption.
