Yellowcat is seeking a Stage Operator to join its cutting-edge virtual production studio in Barcelona. You will prepare the stage, operate the LED volume and camera tracking systems, and ensure safe, smooth production with real-time rendering and monitoring throughout shoots.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with LED volumes, Unreal Engine workflows, and broadcast/production technology, maintaining reliability and safety at all times.

Formación

• Experience in virtual production, broadcast, live events or technical studio environments.

Stage Operator (Virtual Production / LED Volume)

The Opportunity

We are looking for Stage Operators to join a leading virtual production studio, supporting the day-to-day operation of a cutting-edge LED volume and real-time production environment.

This is a hands-on technical role where you'll be responsible for preparing the stage for production, operating and monitoring systems throughout filming, and ensuring everything is safely shut down and ready for the next shoot. You'll work closely with producers, directors, videographers and technical teams to keep productions running smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and safety.

The ideal candidate will enjoy problem-solving, be calm under pressure, and have experience working with LED volumes, Unreal Engine workflows or broadcast/production technology.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing the virtual production stage ahead of each shoot, ensuring all systems are fully operational.
• Operating and monitoring the LED volume, camera tracking systems and real-time rendering environment throughout production.
• Carrying out LED wall checks, calibration and performance monitoring to ensure consistent image quality.
• Setting up and verifying camera tracking systems, ensuring accurate real-time tracking data.
• Supporting lighting setup and DMX-controlled lighting systems.
• Loading and verifying Unreal Engine projects, checking rendering performance and ensuring synchronisation between cameras and LED walls.
• Troubleshooting technical issues quickly to minimise production downtime.
• Working closely with directors, videographers and production teams to respond to changing requirements during filming.
• Monitoring equipment performance, temperatures and system health throughout the day.
• Maintaining accurate records of technical issues and documenting any faults or anomalies.
• Managing equipment safely, ensuring cables are secure and the stage remains a safe working environment.
• Carrying out end-of-day shutdown procedures, securing equipment and preparing the studio for future productions.

What You'll Bring

• Experience operating within a virtual production, broadcast, live events or technical studio environment.
• Familiarity with LED volume technology and camera tracking systems.
• An understanding of Unreal Engine workflows and real-time rendering.
• Knowledge of lighting systems and DMX control is advantageous.
• Excellent technical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail.
• A proactive, safety-first approach to equipment and studio operations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced production environment.
