Job summary

Yuno is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead Money, Risk & Payment Ancillaries, owning architecture across risk, fraud, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks. This senior technical leader role combines hands-on engineering with strategic direction in a zero-tolerance-for-failure environment.

You will design bank-grade, real-time risk systems and champion a You Build It, You Run It culture, mentoring teams across domains to deliver compliant, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience with Go/Kotlin as core backend.
• Proven track record architecting robust, scalable distributed systems (event-driven, low-latency).
• Experience building financial/risk-critical systems with auditability.
• Strong AWS experience and cloud-native services.
• Excellent automated testing across unit/integration/e2e in CI/CD.
• Proven technical leadership; mentoring and cross-team delivery.
• Prefers clean modular architecture balancing reliability and velocity.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Cross-domain architecture and technical leadership across risk, fraud, scams, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks.
• Real-time risk and fraud systems—design low-latency scoring and action at authorization.
• Money movement and financial correctness—build reconciliations with idempotency and auditable ledgers.
• Scams and disputes—design platforms for scam prevention and dispute lifecycle.
• Bank-grade, resilient systems—ensure high availability and compliance.
• You Build It, You Run It—multi-tenant, elastic scaling with observability.
• Mentorship and cross-functional collaboration—mentor engineers with Product/Data/Compliance.
