Job summary

Yuno is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the Money, Risk & Payment Ancillaries unit, architecting systems for risk decisioning, fraud prevention, money operations, and chargebacks. You will drive reliability, auditability, and performance in a zero‑tolerance environment.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep backend expertise in Go/Kotlin, distributed systems, and cloud-native tech, with a focus on You Build It, You Run It in a remote, globally distributed setup.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience with Go and/or Kotlin.
• Experience building robust, scalable distributed systems with event-driven design.
• Experience building financial or risk-critical systems with auditability.
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native services.
• Excellent automated testing practices in Agile & CI/CD.
• Proven technical leadership, mentoring engineers and driving vision.
• Advanced English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-domain architecture across risk, fraud, scams, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks; set technical direction with APIs and event-driven design.
• Design real-time risk and fraud systems with low latency and auditable decisions.
• Build money movement and reconciliation systems with idempotency and exact- once semantics.
• Design scam prevention platforms and dispute lifecycle aligned with card-network rules.
• Champion a You Build It, You Run It culture with multi-tenancy and observability.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, Data/ML, Compliance across domains.
