LeoVegas is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to lead the design and evolution of distributed systems powering real-time sports data, trading and pricing. You will provide technical leadership while delivering hands-on contribution to improve reliability and performance in a fast-paced, data-intensive sportsbook platform.

The role emphasizes architecture guidance, collaboration across teams, mentorship, and a strong focus on latency, throughput, and maintainability.

Formación

• Proven experience designing, building and operating distributed systems at scale in production.
• Strong backend Java experience (Java 21+).
• Hands-on with reactive programming and non-blocking systems using Spring Boot and/or Vert.x.

Responsabilidades

• Lead architecture and design discussions for scalable, resilient distributed systems.
• Drive observability, monitoring and readiness; reduce tech debt.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and pairing.
• Collaborate with Product and Architects to translate problems into practical solutions.
