LeoVegas Group in Málaga is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to drive the Sportsbook backend architecture. You will collaborate with Staff Engineers, validate architectural decisions, and shape backend solutions, contributing to planning and feature development.

You will own and implement scalable microservices, ensure reliability, and work with multiple teams in a fast-paced agile setting. The role offers a hybrid work model with strong focus on performance and security.

Formación

• 6+ years of software development in Java with Spring Boot and event-driven architectures.
• Experience designing microservices, Kubernetes, Docker and Kafka messaging systems.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching; proficiency in monitoring and observability.

You'll collaborate closely with our Staff Engineers, participating in tech meetings, validating architectural decisions, and ensuring seamless communication flow. Additionally, you'll work collaboratively with various teams, contributing to planning, tech solutions discussions, and feature development. You Will Be Responsible For

• Taking ownership, problem-solving and collaborating with other teams.
• Designing and implementing from idea to production.
• Building for scale, availability, performance and security across the stack.
• Working with product managers, architects, QA engineers and other developers in a highly collaborative agile environment.
• Integrating new products and building internal services to support our ecosystem.
• Conducting code reviews and mentoring team members.
• Ensuring services are production-ready, observable, and maintainable through monitoring, alerting, and on-call participation.

Essential Skills

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• 6+ Years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Experience designing Microservices, K8s and Containerization (Docker) and Kafka messaging systems.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching.
• Implementing resilience patterns (e.g., retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation).
• Designing and maintaining monitoring dashboards (e.g., metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to proactively detect issues.
• Hands-on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end-to-end Microservices.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Reactive Programming (e.g. RxJava) and Vert.x would be a big plus.
• Experience in platforms like AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Online gaming and gambling experience
