UST is a multinational technology services company hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join a strategic banking project in Madrid. You will focus on SQL development, data modeling, and collaboration with stakeholders while visiting central Madrid offices three days a week.

Strong English is required. You will build and optimize SQL pipelines, improve enterprise data models, implement data quality controls, and support BI initiatives with datasets for Tableau/Power BI.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or SQL-heavy backend development roles.
• Expert-level SQL skills with complex querying and performance tuning.
• Experience with Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, SCD and 3NF.
• Hands-on experience building scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Experience implementing data quality controls, testing, and monitoring frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).

• Work with and enhance enterprise data models (Data Vault, dimensional models, SCD, 3NF).
• Ensure SQL code is performant and aligned with data architecture standards.
• Implement data quality controls, testing frameworks and validation rules.
• Maintain documentation, data lineage, and metadata management practices.
• Design, build and maintain SQL-centric ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop ingestion processes for batch, incremental and near real-time data flows.
• Leverage Python for automation and API integrations as needed.
• Support BI initiatives by creating datasets for Tableau/Power BI.
• Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Compliance and business teams to translate requirements.

What we look for?

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in SQL development, data modeling, and stakeholder collaboration to join a strategic project within the banking sector.

Required to go to the client's offices in central Madrid 3 days a week.

High english level is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex SQL transformations supporting analytics, reporting, and financial/regulatory requirements.
• Work with and enhance enterprise data models, including Data Vault, dimensional models, SCD, and 3NF structures.
• Ensure SQL code is performant, maintainable, and aligned with data architecture standards.
• Implement data quality controls, testing frameworks, and validation rules.
• Maintain documentation, data lineage, and metadata management practices.
• Design, build, and maintain SQL-centric ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop ingestion processes for batch, incremental, and near real-time data flows.
• Leverage Python when beneficial for automation, workflow optimization, and API integrations.
• Support BI initiatives by creating datasets optimized for Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Partner with Finance, Risk, Compliance, and business teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions.

Mandatory Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or SQL-heavy backend development roles.
• Expert-level SQL skills, including complex querying, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Strong experience with enterprise data modeling methodologies such as Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, SCD, and 3NF.
• Hands-on experience building scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Experience implementing data quality controls, testing, and monitoring frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).

Nice To Have

• Python development experience for automation and workflow enhancement.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other BI/analytics platforms.
• Banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industry experience.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage practices.
• Experience with core banking platforms such as Temenos T24/Transact, Temenos Triple'A, or similar solutions.
